Our Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation
At Neuro-Collective, we recognize that our work takes place on lands steeped in history, memory, and resilience.
We are located on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Neutral Peoples — land governed by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, a treaty that reminds us of our shared responsibility to care for the land and one another.
We hold deep gratitude to the Indigenous Peoples who have called this land home since time immemorial, and we recognize the ongoing presence, knowledge, and leadership of Indigenous communities across the Niagara region and beyond.
But acknowledgement alone is not enough.
We understand that truth and reconciliation require action, unlearning, and listening. As an organization rooted in care, neurodiversity-affirming practice, and community change, we are committed to:
-
Actively challenging colonial systems that continue to marginalize Indigenous Peoples, particularly those who are neurodivergent and disabled.
-
Uplifting Indigenous voices, stories, and leadership within our programming and partnerships.
-
Investing in continuous learning, accountability, and relationship-building.
-
Advocating for systems that honour sovereignty, access, and justice for all.
We know this work is ongoing. We know we won’t always get it right. But we promise to keep showing up — with humility, with care, and with a willingness to grow.
Miigwetch. Nya:weh. Thank you.
